REZ'd TSTC Gaming Competition Sponsorships
Dear Potential Sponsor:
Gaming is not only popular and entertaining, but it has proven to be educational, as well. Skills such as reading, math, and critical thinking are sharpened by video games. The U.S. military and the medical field use gaming technology in simulation software for training purposes. Video gaming skills are directly relevant to programming, network administration, digital design, Web design, and many other fields that are a part of several degree plans offered by Texas State Technical College Waco.
To encourage students and young people to continue to develop these skills through education, TSTC Waco is hosting a ReZ'd Gaming Competition for youth ages 14 and up in the spring of 2008. This event will not only showcase the skills of talented gamers, but will highlight the importance of gaming technology in today's rapidly changing workforce.
TSTC Waco is currently seeking sponsors for ReZ'd to help foster the creativity and talent of young people in Central Texas. We would like for you to consider becoming a sponsor and have enclosed a sponsorship information sheet for you.
The competition includes three components: A Lan contest, a Console competition, and a Mod Tourney.
The Mod competition will be the main component of the ReZ'd Gaming Competition. The winner of the Mod tourney will be awarded a gaming scholarship to TSTC Waco. Runners up will receive cash awards and prizes.
In the Console event, contestants will play the popular game, Guitar Hero III, and through a process of elimination, a winner will be selected. The top three winners will receive cash awards and prizes. In the Lan contest, players compete against each other; through an elimination process, first-, second- and third-place winners will receive cash awards and prizes.
I will be happy to answer any questions or provide further information. We hope you will join us in this endeavor to encourage young people to continue their education and attend college.
Thank you,
