CRITERIA FOR ELIGIBILITY for the Malcolm P. Duncan Annual Scholarship: 1. Must have a completed file in the Financial Aid Office. 2. Must be enrolled as a current TSTC student on a full-time basis. 3. Submit a completed Student Scholarship Application Form. 4. Must be a graduate of McLennan County High Schools. 5. Submit a 400 - 500 word essay. Essay topic: Is the ability to read and write more important today than in the past? Why or why not? 6. Submit two letters of recommendations. 7. Furnish a TSTC transcript showing completion of the most previous term with a GPA of 3.0 or higher (WebAdvisor print out will work, must show GPA).
If this is your first term at TSTC, please submit a high school transcript indicating graduation in the top 25% of the class.
One scholarships of $500 will be awarded for the Spring 2009 semester.
SUBMIT ALL SCHOLARSHIP PAPERWORK IN A BINDER OR FOLDER TO THE FINANCIAL AID OFFICE. INCOMPLETE OR LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

The last day to drop a class for the Spring 09 semester is Friday April 3rd. Students wishing to drop a class should obtain a drop slip from the CMT office and get the form signed by a CMT Advisor and initialed by the instructor of the course you are dropping. This form must be turned in to the Admissions office by the end of the day on Friday!

The top three finishers for the SkillsUSA CMT campus runoffs are:
1st Place - Mark Eslick 2nd Place - Andrew Wallace 3rd Place - Thomas Flaherty
These three students will be competing in the State SkillsUSA Computer Maintenance Competition in San Antonio in Late March!

Attention students planning to compete in the Computer Maintenance SkillsUSA competition!! The schedule for the SkillsUSA comptetition is as follows:
Written Tests - Tuesday, 02/10 at 11AM in Room 118 Hands-on Part 1 - Wednesday 02/11 at 11:30AM in Room 150 Hands-on Part 2 - Thursday 02/12 at 11:30AM in Room 150
Students who are unable to meet at these times need to contact me ASAP so that alternate times can be arranged.

The Irene S. Wischer Education Foundation administered by Frost Bank is offering scholarship(s) for the 2009-2010 academic year. Scholarship specifics: The first awards from this scholarship will be applied to the Fall semester of the 2009-2010 school year; An award shall not exceed $10,000.00 per year per student for the 2009-2010 school years; adjusted annually thereafter; No single student shall receive more than 25% of the total of any year's distributions; Funds will be paid directly to a school to be used for tuition, room, and board; The scholarship period is for up to four years provided the student maintains a satisfactory grade average for continued enrollment. Students must re-apply annually; The deadline for applications for the 2009-2010 school year is March 31, 2009. Scholarship winners will be announced on or about May 31, 2009. Qualifications for consideration for a scholarship award: Citizens of the United States; Residents of Texas; Good character with preference given to applicants who are Christian and attend church regularly; Need for financial assistance; Academic potential and ability (not necessarily academic performance). Special Congratulations are in order for Alicia Sharp and Matt Mazanec for earning national recognition by winning medals at the National SkillsUSA Championships. Alicia won a Silver Medal in the Pin Design contest and Matt won the Bronze Medal in the Computer Maintenance contest. This is a huge accomplishment as they competed against State Winners from 50 states and 4 US Territories.
Also competing for the CMT Club were John Cooper (Related Technical Math), Troy Groce (Job Demonstation), and Christi Ward (Photography). These students were outstanding in representing us and the State of Texas in this National Competition.
Other National Winners from TSTC Waco are: Jeremy Cehan (DDT) - Action Skills Bronze Jon Bartosch (CST) - Computer Programming Gold Kevin Miller (CST) - Principles of Technology Gold
Please congratulate these students - They worked hard for their accomplishments!!!
